I just watched the 2009 “Star Trek” movie and was wondering what the diffrent colors of there shirts meen.

in the original series and the new movie Gold was for command officers. Blue was for Science officers and medical. Red was for security and engineering.
in the Next Generation era Red was for Command. Blue was the same and Gold was for engineering and security.
